Sometimes you don't realize that you have a good thing until it's too late. I spent two (almost) great years in Baden. I realize now that they were great years, for the most part. My wife and I were both young, and had two very young kids when we were posted to Germany. The culture was entirely new to us, and somewhat confusing. What I remember the most about Germany was the sense of community that exsisted within the base. I always felt it whenever I drove through the gates. Even living in Weitnung, as soon as you drove into the complex, there it was. I missed greatly when I left. I could have stayed longer, but decided not to. My wife and I split up while there, and she went back to Canada.I don't know if things would have turned out any better if I had stayed. They did not go well after I went back.As I said, I was young, and made decisions that I probably not have made had I been a little older. I received no support from my section (Foodservice)but did have freinds in Baden that made life a little better. That sense of community, remember.This I miss most of all.Byron, Joe, Peter, Marcus, Michelle(Spuds), Tammy. Miss them all.
