Today I watched Team Canada win the World Hockey Championship and a flood of memories came to me of a Sunday Afternoon in Krefeld, Germany when a group of 4 wingers watched the Penticton V's win the same Champioship. The year was 1955 and we were all so very young and full of adrenalin. The Rec Centre had about 20 tickets and names were drawn from a hat to see who got the chance to go. Base sent one Photographer on TD and the only stipulation for the rest of us was we had to attend the game in uniform.(I'm not sure that was a good idea) Memory dulls the names of those who were lucky enough to be there. I do remember some ie: Rose Marie Boulding(who was from Penticton), Don Teed, Sid Tetlock, Mona Johnson, Jack Little, to name a few. Hank Rifle was the Photo Tech on TD. I only have been able to keep in touch with two of them but on a day like today I wonder if they are still around and watching the game with the same fevor they did back then.
