I was a student at Rhine Valley Park School; maiden name Mills. My father was Warrent Officer George Mills in charge of Guardhouse...I just found this site via Google tonight and it will take a long time to peruse it & find people that were at the Base in my years. As we were on Homeric going over, 419 Squadron flew over; after our arrival Jul or Aug.'57. Was friends with Lynne (her dad Sq. Leader Marsh) 422 & 444 Squadrons were on base; CF100's and Sabres - everywhere. Besides locating people I went to school with or knew through my parents, I had 5 German male pen pals from camping days, and guess they are lost forever. What a great life we had..Air Rangers, the pool from approx. March to Oct., the [new] school, 'Hic Et Ile', great gym, extra-curricular Art classes, & our Sock Hops; our visiting, or visits from 3 & 2 Fighter Wings. We had the best (DND) teachers; Miss Kerr (Fr.), Miss Stortz (Math) and Miss Rogers (History). My daughter had Miss Kerr's Fr. book some 15 yrs. later which I got autographed for her...I met Miss Rogers when as a career EA, her father was head of Kinsmen & my boss was President that year in Ontario. I did not know until I read some pieces here, the base is empty...sad. Only a few names that come to mind: Bob Boucher (in class), Nick Tuele, Malins, Sharon, Denny & Dick Munroe, Jim Fraser...Bannermans, Freddie ?. This has been lengthy...I'll keep searching. That's all for now.
