444Fighter Squadron December 1957 to December 1960............
What a wonderful find, there must be a reason for this sight as all those that are on it have wonderful memories of RCAF Station Baden Solingen,#4 Fighter Wing, Germany.
My wife Frances and I, Darrell, arrived with our 5 month old son just two days before Christmas. We were met by Marty Healy at the train station in Baden Baden and he took us to see our new home in Iffizheim, and with the wonderful help from the Healy's we had a Christmas tree with all the trimmings for our first Christmas in Germany.
We were there for three years and we really enjoyed our time there, having another son added to our family.
Back in those days when you went overseas , you travelled by boat, we were on the Arosa Sun, an Italian ,very small, passenger boat. The trip took us nine days at sea, some of which were very rough.
We have often thought of 4 wing and have wondered where the Healy's have gotton to, along with the other people that we met while there.
Anyone that remembers us , send us an e mail, we would love to hear from you.
We are now retired in Nova Scotia and we love it...............
