Baden Remembered Guestbook 1969 -- Posted By: Marcel J.C. Poirier Hie everyone! We came from 3 Wing Zweibrüken in June 1969. We lived there one year and we loved it. It was an emotional day, while we paraded in front of the Totem pole, given by the Canadians to the People in sign of Friendship.
Our arrival in Baden-Söellingen was hard to find a place to stay, but we finally found a nice house in the Prairies: 18 kms from base, a small village, named Muckenschofpt, a few kms passed Lichtenau. The Black Forest was at our doorstep, what a beautiful view and generous people there.
We stayed and lived with the German Community, we learned very much from them. Our five children were free in nature and played happily with the village's youth too. It has been a very precious time span: our life in Germany and Europa.
I liked my job on the CF-104, as a Radar Air Technician and Communications. We had a great crews of Airmen , dedicated to our role of Peace
On our free time, we travelled much, camping, visiting and learning the different cultures of this great continent. Every countries visited had something special: the people loved Canadians.
We will remembered all our friends met there: Germans and Canadians, and of course, all the others we met in the other countries visited.
Austria, Holland and Norway were very special to our hearts. They loved children.
Guten Nacht!
