I have just finished browsing the website and it is amazing what memories it brings back. I worked at the 1 AMS Engine Bay for my entire time at Baden 80-84 and Ramona Taught Figure Skating during that time period at both Lahr and Baden Skating Clubs. In my spare time I played with the Baden Knights and from those days I have been fortunate enough to continue running into (pardon the pun) old adversaries and friends from the old CFEHL. We are currently in Ottawa now and please don't hesitate to drop us a line if you're wondering what we've been up to or just want to catch up on what we've been up to since those "Fast and Wild" days spent in Baden before kids.

Hi there, I was in Baden from 85-91. I was a student at Baden Elementary School. Many fond memories. I am looking for a friend named Chantal Poirier. She and her family were posted while we were in school and we lost touch. Also, if someone has a picture of the logo from the school, that would be wonderful. I have been trying to find one and i cant. Thanks. Great site!!

Great Site. We were there from 1976-1980 Air Traffic Control. I also tried to officiate the great hockey played during those years with the likes of Bert Beaulieu and others. We are retired in Greenwood area. Still active in the hockey world. Would like to hear from Lawrenz and Anna Frank, our wonderful landlords.

WOW! To think that I was in Baden from 74' to 79' and again from 81' to 87' and never once thought of looking for a site that might be posted. My daughter Stephanie found this site while doing a project for school on Germany. I have been going through the guest book for the past couple of hours and found alot of names from the past. With some of the stories I have read, it certainly brought back so many memories. I would love to get in touch with lost friends i made way back then. I ended up marrying Darryl who also was in Baden 84' to 88'. He was a Cpl in 2ppcli. So if any of you might recognize us, drop an email. We would love to hear from you!

Great Site, I haven't been on in a while and lost a lot of addresses, so if you regocnize my name drop a line. It's nice to see some old names and hear what everyone is up to. But man what was in the water over there. Everyone got a house full of kids. Myself included, two boys, Justin is 9 and Chase is 5. I have been working in the jails for the last 6 years and recently acccepted to the RCMP. I'm expected to head out to Regina to train around January. It'll be nice to look people up as I think at times we were the only family from Baden to go back east. If you remember me it would be nice to hear from you.

Thank you for a great website. I never had the chance to be posted to Germany as it was closing down as my career started, although I spent a lot of time there as a teenager during the summers, as my grandparents (mother's side are German and live outside of Dusseldorf. What a great experience it must have been to have been posted to either Lahr or Baden. Thank you.

I was in Baden in 1966 and 1967, returning to Canada at age 17 with my family in time to celebrate our 100th birthday that July. My father was Art Steward, worked in comm squad (?). My sister was Lynette, age 18. Don't remember much of the place except my time in Rovers, going on a week skiing trip to Kandersteg, Switzerland. Also remember sneaking a beer or two in a gasthaus in Rastatt! Anyone remember us? Pretty nifty looking site by the way!

Hi all! It's been several years since we checked in on this site and were pleased to see that it is still "alive and well". Great to see some of the names from our super years in Baden 1978 to 1982. We both played in the Baden Rube Band and had the time of our lives. We managed to attend the two excellent "Ruber" Reunions that were held in Ottawa, but missed the 2000 Rube Band Reunion in Hugie as it conflicted with a family event. I'm sure it was a great time. It would be great to here from you! Tschuss, Dave and Nancy

I was born on the base in '57 whilst my Dad was a Sabre pilot. I think his time there was roughly '56 to '59, although this is a bit hazy as by all accounts he appeared to be completely pissed for the entire duration of his stay! We just got back from a two week visit to Gemany, we stayed at Romana & Erich Gartners in Schwarzach. We did a tour of the base lots of changes in 10 years. For those who worked in the CAG, 1 AMS the snags and ARO hangers are still being used the old GFFT is now a bar and 439 servicing is being used by contractors as are most of the buildings. HAS 8 is now a museum with both German & Canadian memoribilia, they will be celebrating the bases 50 anniversary in Sept if anyone wishes to attend. Of course we toured the local area and Black Forest and ate some great food and drank a few good beer and wine. I could spend a lot of time tell you about the changes there are so many. We also saw the last flight of the Concord and got caught in the stau when leaving the base took us two hours to get to Iffisheim. Ralph
